As you probably know, Human Growth Hormone, or HGH, and testosterone have been banned by most major sports organizations as “performance enhancing” substances.
That should be an indicator of how effective these hormones are. They can improve strength, stamina, etc, and could give an athlete an unfair advantage.
While these hormones, HGH and testosterone, are frowned upon in the sports world, we are finding increasing benefits in using them for us “common folk.”
In fact, a recent study found that when used in combination, HGH and testosterone could be very effective in treating pain, and specifically back pain.
How HGH and Testosterone Helps Back Pain
The Journal of Pain Research, took a look at the effectiveness of HGH and testosterone injections to treat patients with chronic lower back pain (CLBP). In this study, 60 patients with CLBP were given an experimental combination injection of HGH and testosterone.
There were also given some follow-up manual manipulations, and rehabilitative exercises. Those given the treatments reported a significant decrease in pain, (using a pain rating index).
All patients who received the injection reported at least some improvement. Although, 41% rated the improvement as a reduction in pain of 50% or more.
This is only the latest, but not the first study to suggest that HGH is effective for treating joint and back pain. Researchers believe that it is HGH’s ability to restore connective tissue that accounts for the positive results.
Other studies have indicated that many people suffering from CLBP, do have low levels of HGH in the blood. This may account for some of their symptoms, and why HGH injections help.

Other Benefits of HGH Optimization
Besides showing positive effects for the treatment of back pain, and other injuries, there are many other benefits of HGH. Did you know that the word “hormone” comes from a Greek word meaning “to stir up?” Hormones “stir up” or “stimulate” all of your bodily functions.
HGH stimulates the growth, healing and renewal of all the cells in your body. When you are young, HGH is necessary to have you grow and mature into adulthood.
But, even once you have become an adult, HGH still plays a vital role. Yet, despite the need for its continued presence, HGH production does decrease over time. Levels of HGH begin to drop most significantly as you reach middle age, and that is when you can begin to feel the effects of the decrease.
Declining levels of HGH can contribute to fatigue, weight gain, loss of muscle mass and bone density, poor sleep, and even sexual issues. HGH optimization therapy can:
- Rejuvenate and revitalize every cell in the body
- Aid in fat loss, weight reduction, and muscle gain
- Help your body heal faster, and boost your immune system
- Return your energy to more youthful levels
- Improve your overall quality of life
