Omnitrope vs. Genotropin vs. Tev Tropin

Home » Blog » Human Growth Hormone Therapy » Omnitrope vs. Genotropin vs. Tev Tropin

Dr. Alvaro J. Ocampo Posted on: April 12, 2013

Genotropin, Norditropin, Omnitrope and Tev Tropin are some of the most popular brands out there. Here, we’ll take a look at some of the best HGH injectables and discuss their use and the differences between them.

Omnitrope

Omnitrope, manufactured by Sandoz (Novartis) is a recombinant HGH recommended for treating children who have a deficiency of HGH, those with PWS, Idiopathic Short Stature (ISS), Turner Syndrome, and children who are small for Gestational Age. It can also be used to treat adults with AGHD. Omnitrope must not be taken if you have cancer, diabetic retinopathy, or breathing problems. Consulting a doctor is important if you have liver disease, diabetes, kidney disease, scoliosis, ailments of the pituitary gland, hypertension, pancreatic disorder, underactive thyroid, carpal tunnel syndrome, and lesion or brain tumors.

Some of the side effects reported by users of Omnitrope include redness or pain in the injection site, muscle and joint pain, numbness, stiffness, and swelling of feet and hands, increased blood sugar, leg pain, headache, and hematoma.

Genotropin

Genotropin, manufactured by Pfizer, is a treatment option for a growth hormone deficiency. The supplement is strikingly similar to the natural HGH produced by the human body, with the only difference between them being the fact that Genotropin is synthesized in a lab. The approval of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has allowed Genotropin to be used as treatment for growth deficiency in children who have Turner Syndrome, children who have a documented deficiency of HGH, children who were born SGA (Small for Gestational Age), children who have ISS (Idiopathic Short Stature), and children with PWS (Prader-Willi Syndrome). The supplement can also be used to treat grown-ups with AGHD (adult onset growth hormone deficiency).

The side effects of Genotropin include pain in the abdominal region, nausea, vomiting, increased heart rate, dry mouth, hunger, increased urination, increased thirst, drowsiness, blurred vision, dry skin, weight loss, changes in vision, inflammation of the feet and hand, tingling sensation and numbness in the hand, fingers and wrist, muscle pain, sneezing, stuffy nose and sore throat.

Tev Tropin

Tev Tropin, manufactured by Teva, can be used to treat children who suffer from GHD. It can also be used in the treatment of other conditions if prescribed by your physician. The HGH supplement enables the body to produce growth hormone and enhances the growth of muscles, bones, tissues, and internal organs in your body. Tev Tropin must not be used by individuals who are allergic to the ingredients present in the drug, if they are undergoing or have undergone cancer treatment or treatment of tumors, if they are overweight, or have PWS (Prader-Willi Syndrome).

The side effects of Tev Tropin include headaches, reactions in the area where the drug was injected, muscle pain localized to specific regions, hypothyroidism, glucosuria, weakness, mild hyperglycemia, myalgia, edema, arthralgia, fluid retention, increased serum phosphate, formation of antibodies, and pancreatitis. A doctor must be consulted immediately if you experience any of these adverse reactions.

Differences between Genotropin, Tev Tropin, and Omnitrope

Genotropin, Tev Tropin, and Omnitrope are HGH drugs that use “somatropin” as a common non-proprietary name. Tev Tropin is used to treat pediatric GHD (Growth Hormone Deficiency) and Short Stature that does not match an individual’s age. Meanwhile, Omnitrope is used to treat GHD in adults. It can also treat GHD in children and short stature for age, while Genotropin is used in curing Hypopituitarism, Turner Syndrome, Pediatric GHD, and AGHD.

A small clinical study in California has suggested for the first time that it might be possible to reverse the body’s epigenetic clock, which measures a person’s biological age. Is HGH a Steroid Is HGH (Human Growth Hormone) a Steroid? [FAQ]

HGH is not a steroid. HGH, or human growth hormone is often mistakenly thought to be a steroid. This is largely due to the fact that growth hormone is tested for, and banned by, most major sports. Therefore, it often gets erroneously lumped together with other so-called “performance enhancing drugs,” such as “anabolic steroids.” However, ...
