Where Do You Inject Sermorelin?

Home » Knowledge Center » Hormone Therapy » Where Do You Inject Sermorelin?

A study published in the BioDrugs journal supports that sermorelin is usually injected just under the skin, known as a subcutaneous injection. A Michigan University Rogel Cancer Center document states that this type of injection goes into the body fat, not the bloodstream or a muscle. Sermorelin therapy requires tiny needles.

Sermorelin injections are usually administered once a day, often before bedtime because it mimics the body’s natural cycle of growth hormone production. A doctor, however, may offer different advice. Sermorelin may interact with other hormones in the body, so it usually needs to be taken on an empty stomach.

Subcutaneous Injections Are the Best Delivery Route

Studies published in Pediatrics and Clinical Endocrinology in the 1980s and 1990s confirmed that subcutaneous injections are the best delivery route for sermorelin in children and adolescents who are receiving this hormone because of a problem with their pituitary gland or other growth restriction concern.

Some adults may use sermorelin injections as a part of a program to improve declining levels of human growth hormone as they age. Sermorelin usually gets injected into the stomach or thigh because a subcutaneous injection targets the fatty tissue just below the skin. Anywhere someone can pinch their skin and pull fatty tissue into a roll should work, though a doctor may recommend specific sites.

Rotate Injection Location to Prevent Bruising

Just like insulin-dependent diabetics who rotate the location on their body where they administer an injection, a person will want to alternate the site of sermorelin injections to avoid bruising and soreness. Some people like to keep a written record of where and when they took their injections to ensure a good rotation.

For example, a four-day rotation may include:

  • Day one: stomach
  • Day two: thigh
  • Day three: hip
  • Day four: upper arm

On the fifth day, someone would administer the injection into the abdomen again and repeat the rotation. Depending on their doctor’s advice, they can create this type of pattern to reduce the bruising and soreness they experience at each injection site.

Sermorelin Therapy for Reduced Levels of HGH

Sermorelin stimulates the body to produce and secrete human growth hormone, a major hormone that continues to play a significant role in the way the body functions even after someone reaches adulthood. If a person has declining or low levels of human growth hormone, a program that includes sermorelin therapy may help them.

A study published in the journal Clinical Interventions in Aging reports that sermorelin injections for adults with declining levels of human growth hormone is an off-label use. However, people who participate in sermorelin therapy as a part of a comprehensive program report a wide range of positive effects that may include:

  • Feeling revitalized with increased stamina
  • Increased levels of energy
  • Better sleep and fewer nighttime disturbances
  • Improved immune strength
  • Better cardiovascular health
  • Improved skin elasticity
  • Loss of body fat and increased muscle mass
  • Improved bone density
  • Increased libido, sexual frequency, and sexual satisfaction
  • Improved focus and concentration
  • Increased memory and cognitive abilities

Sermorelin is often used in conjunction with additional hormone therapies as a key part of a larger protocol or program that can help users regain and maintain the levels of human growth hormone they previously had.

Therapy Should Revolve Around a Person’s Individual Needs

Sermorelin is a medically proven, science-based therapy that addresses declining hormone levels and other concerns. Before treatment, a person must submit a blood sample for a laboratory panel. Bloodwork of this kind helps determine someone’s current hormone levels—the potential cause of their decline in vitality—and the dose that may be necessary to improve their overall wellness.

If a person’s bloodwork shows that they have declining or low levels of human growth hormone, they may be a good candidate for sermorelin therapy as a part of a comprehensive plan to address their lowered hormone levels. Testing is the only way to learn if sermorelin therapy might be effective for them.

Once tested, someone may receive a customized plan based on the results of a lab panel. If a person’s results show decreased human growth hormone, sermorelin therapy may play a major role in their program. Because sermorelin is a prescription medication, they will not receive this type of therapy unless they have a deficiency.
